If you are not able to have a bigger meal pre workout (check out this video on pre workout nutrition and timing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLS_9Sroc4Q) and you only have 30 minutes or less to fuel your workout here are 5 foods to try! 1. oatmeal- instant oats or large flake oats are a quick and easily digested carb that tend to sit well 2. Fruit - fruits like banana, pears, apple sauce or apples tend to sit well. Some people who are more sensitive to FODMAPS (carbohydrates in some fruits) may not tolerate things like apples so play around with what fruits work for you! Dried fruits can also be a good option, as they are more concentrated with carbohydrates, however they may have too much fibre for some! 3. Crackers- plain soda biscuit crackers are the go to for when people feel nauseous or when they are sick. They tend to be plain enough and simple enough to be well tolerated before a workout 4. Smoothies or juice- if food has not been tolerated well for you in the past, try drinking something like a smoothy (banana + juice), diluted juice, or sport drink to get some fuel in pre workout. 5. Sport gels/chews- these are specifically designed to be used for people during their workouts and therefore are very easily and quickly absorbed. You could also try maple syrup or honey as well! Making sure you have at least 30g carbs before you workouts is essential to make sure you get the most out of your workouts! Comment below if you have any questions! The worksheet that I have designed (see link above) concentrates on the following A1-level contents: - the third person singular form of the verb - the form of the verb that comes after the verbs “like” & “love” - the form of the verb that comes after the modal verb “can” & “cannot” - making a richer, more interesting “presentation” writing There are quite a lot of words and expressions in the lyrics that your students will not be familiar with. I have written them in on purpose in order to keep the song as authentic as possible; your students will constantly be confronted with language that they have never seen before, and getting the gist of a text despite not understanding every single word is an integral part of the learning process.
