These fish tanks are leaking on people and they may have to recall the tanks. I’m not brand biased so this isn’t some sell out video where I’m jaded on sides. I’d be interested in knowing what you guys think. The idea of our fish tanks leaking is scary. More talk on fish tanks: In all honesty, as long as water quality is good, he should be fine in that tank for a while yet. There looks to be plenty of room for him and his buddy’s. I wouldn’t worry about the folks who want to criticize you. Yeah thank you, I struggled with water quality a few months back but since switching out the canister filter with 2 large hobs everything leveled back out and they’ve consistently stayed at 0/0/5-10 (it’s hard to tell on my chart the exact color) and I do weekly water changes, and alternate cleaning the filters with change. If you’ve read all of this thank you and thanks for any advice you can give. This is him (his name is Monstro he’s the large orange one) and his tank mates in their 85 for size reference. The temperature stays between 74-76, parameters are 0/0/7ish? It’s kind of hard to tell on the chart but the nitrates look somewhere between 5-10. I do a 25-30% water change weekly. I struggled with water quality a while back but always kept prime in it to keep them safe while I tried to figure out what was wrong, but once I swapped out the canister filter for 2 large hobs everything has went back to being consistently stable. Exactly as others have said. If your water parameters are good, 85 should be fine for 4 fancies. The 100+ you mentioned would give Monstro a bit more room. thank you, that’s my goal! I’d really like to have a 250, but I’m willing to try and find something bigger than a 85 that I can fit in my basement now if I needed to. I am so sorry people are being unkind with their comments. I am guessing this tank is 85 gallons. They say you should have 20 gallons per fish. If you only have four then you are in the correct range. I realize they are larger. If you test your water and all parameters are fine then there is no need to worry about an upgrade until you can if that is what you want to do. If the parameters are not the best then up the water changes. I watched your video and it brought such a smile to my face. You are doing an awesome job! Yeah thank you, I had an issue what water parameters a few months ago but since getting rid of the canister filter things have been consistently good. I do a weekly 25-30% water change and since I have 4 filters I clean one each week so they all get cleaned each month. You’ve clearly got good aeration and filtration, so I wouldn’t worry about upgrading until after you move. I am sure they’ll love the extra space when they get it, and I would add more sand so they can sift it. Yeah thats a good idea! I’d had it bare bottom because I was struggling with parameters a few months back, but then figured out it was due to the canister filter. I switched filters and now it’s been stable.
