Hanna Lakhter is an American singer-dancer-actor. Born in New York City and raised in a Russian family, she became interested in performing as a child. Hanna continuously sung and danced around the house, which prospered her passion for the Performing Arts. Hanna has been playing the piano, drums, fencing, soccer training, ice-skating, swimming, and skiing since the age of 5. Her specialties in singing, dancing and acting have grown into a widespread of genres. Furthermore, she has been training in dance at Broadway Dance Center, concentrating in tap and hip hop. Because of Hanna’s rigorous training, she has had the ability to perform for Alvin Ailey, several Residential Care Homes, Fundraisers and many corporate events around the tri-state area. She was in many productions in Dwight School Productions, Dwight Dance Productions and the French Woods Festival Productions. Hanna explains, “I never realized how much my singing can impact a person until I saw the old lady's tear run down her cheek, while I was singing Ose Shalom. There is always a song in my soul, which I can share with others, and bring happiness to them”. In a recent event, to honor Holocaust survivors, Hanna Lakhter performed expertly on stage, while capturing the hearts and souls of the elderly audience members. I will enjoy having a tall thin mood seal that pays homage to these lively models. As I grind ink, I watch them swim in my aquarium. The sound of the bubbling water filter sets a mood. Just as grinding ink gives me time to absorb that mood, considering mood seals while painting gives me time to consciously consider the feelings I am enjoying and wish to share. I chose additional mood seals to express the sounds of rushing and gurgling water separately, because these evoke separate moods that correspond with different fish movements and surrounding abstract patterns in plants and water. I believe making these conscious distinctions while painting will improve the process, and that mood seals are therefore so much more than after-the-fact decoration.
