Prayer In one of my previous uploads https://rutube.ru/video/98e63451aaaf924a5f9d740e8cd500e0/?r=plwd I wrote in the description: During this time my prayers were most desperate, most honest and most heartfelt though ugly, rough and in many ways unorthodox.. But the Lord "searches the heart and tests the mind" (Jeremiah 17:10) This peace is a musical description of what I mean by those words. Nick J Artwork generated with NightCafe"Treasure" This peace reflects my thoughts on the Bible passage “Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ." (Phil. 3:8). Although I did not lose everything physically, I have tasted Christ and cannot go to the passing world for hope and satisfaction since everything seems dim and is indeed a “loss” compared to Him. “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it." But take heart; I have overcome the world.” - John 16:33 In this work, I tried to capture the tension of the Christian life, the "already, but not yet" here on earth, while we eagerly wait for the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ. There are many Scriptures that describe this tension. A particularly encouraging one is spoken by the Lord Himself: "In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” - John 16:33 This piece of music is clearly subdivided into two intertwining modes: - In the world you will have tribulation. and - But take heart; I have overcome the world. In the first mode, the soul is crying under the weight of the unrighteousness, vanity, cruelty all around, but also weakness and sin from within that often I feel grieves my Lord... But then the shift is quite sudden into a hopeful, rejoicing, almost dancing mood. The glorious reaffirmation of the Spirit that "I am His" (1. Cor. 3:23) rejuvenates the soul once again! The assurance that I desire nothing more than to be with Him. Nick J Artwork generated with NightCafeFrom the Valley of Death To the Courts of Heaven This piece is about a man who sits in darkness and doesn’t know anything else but to cry out to God. After a period of fervent prayer, his plea is answered in a way that he could not have imagined. Not only is he relieved from all his pain and suffering but he also gets to enjoy a foretaste of Heaven itself and the eternal weight of glory that awaits all whom Jesus Christ redeemed! “O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me. O Lord, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit. … You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!” – Ps. 30:2-3;11-12 Be blessed! Nick J Artwork generated with NightCafeGod, Where Are You? This peace is reflection of my experience in early 2020. Shattered dreams, being broke, lockdowns and a sense of profound hopelessness... Little did I know, that during this darkness, God was preparing me for the greatest blessing in my life: Knowing Him! During this time my prayers were most desperate, most honest and most heartfelt though ugly, rough and in many ways unorthodox.. But the Lord "searches the heart and tests the mind" (Jeremiah 17:10) .. it was in July 2020 that I gave my life to Jesus. "My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.” - Heb. 12:5-6 The fractured piano stands for passing and unfulfilling things of this world. The overall theme captures the deep longing for things to make sense.. 1:23 - The mood shifts towards a more hopeful tone: In the midst of uncertainty, God was always there! Nick J Artwork generated with NightCafe"Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts." - Psalm 33:3 When I read this verse, the first things that comes to mind is a choir - maybe a small choir in a church. However, recently I started to believe there is more to this verse - far more than meets the eye. Every piece of music, every song we sing to His glory here on this earth is but a vague shadow of the heavenly reality: There, before the throne of God, hosts of angels, in a polyphony of million upon billions of voices, each beautiful beyond human perception, in wonderful inconceivable tongues sing and play endless praises to their Lord throughout eternity. I am yearning for the day to hear the heavenly orchestra and to fall down on my face in joyful admiration of the One whom the angels worship! If you are not a believer, surrender and come to Jesus today! There is nothing the world could ever offer that would be better than His salvation: "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” - Matthew 11:28-30 God bless!
