Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht were among the leaders of the uprising of the Spartacus League. The uprising was aimed against the war the Kaisers government then the social democrats. The Spartacus League was a pro-Bolshevik organization. This song is original about the volunteer soldiers who defended German territory against Communists insurrection during the interwar years.
